Mizzy Night Milestone

Positive Futures joined forces with our VOSS partners to deliver a range of stimulating and creative activities to engage with young people across the five areas of North Liverpool to tackle the issues surrounding Mischief night. Locally referred as Mizzy night, in previous years there has been a marked increase in anti-social behaviour reported around the 30th October.

The aim of the week was to engage with as many young people as possible within the VOSS areas, to prevent them from taking part in anti-social behaviour linked to this night. The Detached Youth Worker teams from Positive Futures, Walton Youth Project, The Lighthouse, Sports Alive and BNENC delivered an intensive programme of activities in the weeks leading up to and after Mischief night. These included football tournaments, go-karting, cinema trips, Blackpool outings and so much more.

We are delighted that the collaborative approach with our VOSS partners has contributed to a 23% reduction in anti-social behaviour linked around “Mizzy Night” in all five areas. The positive results of our partnership have reinforced the importance of our working together to create a greater impact to support the young people of the region.

We look forward to working with our VOSS partners delivering a coordinated approach in future projects. If you would like further information about VOSS, please email Catherine Simmons, VOSS Project Manager at catherine@positivefutures.org.uk.

VOSS is funded by the Big Lottery Fund.
