Positive Futures, a charitable youth organisation based in Liverpool who have a vision to help every young person to achieve their potential, have announced the launch of a new and exciting service, Positive Futures Homes.
The new service offer will provide short, medium and long-term placements for children and young people aged 8-18 who have social, emotional and behavioural difficulties.
Positive Futures Homes will further enhance the already impressive work carried out by the youth charity, enabling them to invest further in the long-term outcomes of the young people in their care. In 2018, Positive Futures ran hundreds of hours of Open Access Sessions, as well as supporting 83 young people through their targeted one-to-one support services. This one-to-one work saw 64% of young people who access the services show a notable improvement in RCADs or SDQs. Across all their services, 85% of young people felt a sense of purpose and achievement through the work they did with Positive Futures.
The first Positive Futures Home, known as ‘The Bungalow,’ is a four bed detached house. The bungalow will be ready from mid 2020 and will be situated close to Orrell Park train station.

Positive Futures Homes’ purpose is to provide a home which offers outstanding care and support to some of the most vulnerable young people in Liverpool, including those who are difficult to place and those who may need additional wrap around services. Positive Futures Homes also plans to work alongside local authorities to deliver care support and other specialist services whilst offering best value.
This new addition to the Positive Futures family will add a further layer of much needed support for young people. As the charity sees the demand for targeted support and more specialised interventions increase, they are committed to meeting this demand by growing and adapting their offer. Bereavement, crime culture, neuro diversity, depression, drug abuse and mental health are all prevailing issues which present themselves on a weekly basis now, and with 108 young people already receiving 650 hours of targeted one-to-one support in 2018 alone, there is undoubtedly a need for a more robust, multi-leveled approach to youth development to ensure that every young person has the tools they need to achieve their potential.
