Positive Futures welcomes Chris, our new VOSS Project Manager. (Voluntary Outreach Support Services)
The VOSS consortium was formed from a local collaboration between five voluntary sector youth providers who have been established in the North Liverpool community a long time. Their delivery teams operate across the five local priority wards and all of the providers have trusted links with relevant statutory sector agencies, community decision makers and opinion formers.
Chris’ vision consists of working closely with all of the commissioned VOSS Delivery Partners as well as the local strategic and statutory service partners. Through the visibility of the VOSS Partners’ Detached teams, group work and 1-1 targeted support services, the main goal in mind is to see a significant drop in anti-social behaviour in North Liverpool, whilst raising the aspirations and goals of the young people coming into contact with the VOSS delivery teams. Chris is continuing to work closely with existing partners, while helping to develop new relationships.
Wider partners also include Merseyside Police Community Team, Liverpool City Council and their Disarm Groups, and Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service. VOSS is currently funded over 3 years to March 2010 by The Big Lottery Reaching Communities Fund.
