CASE STUDY | Mental health, self esteem and family relationship building
Support with mental health, self-esteem, and social abilities. To support family with building their relationships with each other.
The Intervention
- Support agreed was 1-2-1 support and YP to attend TCG (trading card group) to develop social skills, as well as exploring mental health and self-esteem.
- 1-2-1 support, exploring strategies to support a positive self-image, develop a healthy self-esteem and improve mental health.
- We explored via board games, feelings and emotions boards, self-esteem and mental health activity worksheets alongside problem solving activities which helped the YP improve his confidence.
Outcomes
- Upon completion of support with PF, YP had sessions with a psychotherapist and was doing better in school following intervention with PF.
- YP had increased his confidence and improved his mental health prior to closing with PF.
YP had improved his social skills, had gained a healthier self-esteem and gained a better understanding of the rules parents put in place to ensure his safety – relationship with dad improved.
